Gentlemen,

 

While this is a Harpoon/Naval Warfare site, over time my persistent efforst to promote TacOps has finally gained some traction. Are any of you interested in a Command Post Exercise?

 

This can be conducted one of two ways, the preferred method is everyone has TacOps and it is run as a network game, hosted by me, and communications done by use of mIRC or similiar client. Should the majority of you be intererested, but not have TacOps, and unable to download it for about $25 US, we could go the old route which is only the umpire needs TacOps, the rest of you would need the mIRC connection and a print out of the map that will be used. A player then gives his orders/intent to the umpire who then inputs the orders, runs the turn and then reports back with Sitreps, Spotreps, and colorful commentary.

 

I have a scenario and custom map complete. Tony has indicated a desire to have it run this weekend, i.e. Saturday.

 

Please let me know if there is interest to take command of a virtual battalion and employ it in conjunction with other Harpoon and TacOps fans. Please indicate if you have TacOps, and an IRC capability.

BTW, one can even observe the CPX without actually participating. You do need TacOps to do so however.

I'm definitely interested but I can't commit until closer to the actual day... If the little one is still packing dual ear infections, woe be unto the Brains and may SWMBO have mercy upon his free time!

And then there were four, well, almost four.

 

One additional player committed, call only went out this morning to the TacOps' list, so should be more. How many remains to be seen.

Two more possibles...one Europe, the other north America. Won't know until day of.

I am a Central Timezone so yes, one hour earlier than you. I'd say 8am at the earliest for me, probably 7pm at the latest for a start (then I'd play for ~4 hours until 11pm).

Looking at a potential 1700 GMT start time, provides a late GMT for those east of me. That's 1300 local for me, possible two others, 1200 for another.

 

Units will stagger on map so it will facilitate not overloading a small number of players, and allowing for anyone else who may just show up game day.

 

Please let me know if there are any complete show-stoppers.

There will most likey be room for additional players. As it is now there are some units slated for employment, but may be ordered elsewhere by Higher not wanting to overwehlm those already playing.
