January 9, 201610 yr Ladies & Gentlemen: I'm returning to Harpoon. Purchased Harpoon Ultimate Edition from Matrix. Had DVD shipped because of poor internet connection. Just installed on a new week old Windows 10 machine. Installation went find and the game is running. Checked the version # and it was 2009.050. So I conclude that I must run updates from Matrix website. Do I need to run the 10/10/13 V2009.097 update then run the 1/4/16 V2015.027 update? Or can I run just the 1/4/16 update (does it include the 10/10/13 update)?
January 9, 201610 yr You can skip right to the 2015.027 update, it is comprehensive (includes all of the previous updates). Great to have you back!
January 9, 201610 yr Welcome aboard again! And don't forget to update the Database for running the newest scenarios: http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?/files/category/1-harpoon-classichchcehuce/

Luka, this often means you have a mismatch between scenario and database but could also mean that you are using a database that is not compatible with the version of the game you are using. The next helpful troubleshooting step is posting your ge.log file from the game directory. Alternatively tell us what version of the game you are using, which database (including version), and which scenario.

December 7, 20205 yr Hi Tony, Thanks for your reply. I am using 2015.027. Unfortunately I do not see any ge.log file in my HUCE directory-

Unfortunately I do not see any ge.log file in my HUCE directory- Without ge.log we'll need to know what scenario you are trying to play so that we can point you to the right database. Here is a video that walks you through some of it, https://youtu.be/4yHAXxGep6w
December 10, 20205 yr I'll take RONALD REAGAN 2016-12.scq as an example. Here is what I did... Searched HarpGamer for Ronald Reagan and saw an entry that looked promising. Reagan against China, December 2016-early 2017. Hypothetical/Historical Scenario. - WestPac - HarpGamer That entry says you need the HCDB2 database. Looking in the downloads area, I see that at HCDB2-170909 (1980-2025) - Databases - HarpGamer Just because HCDB2 is the database for this one example doesn't not mean HCDB2 is the database for all of them. An alternate approach for new enough scenarios is to open the scenario file with Notepad and near the beginning will be the database name like "HCDB-150621"
