Should this be announced on the Old Pooners Group on Facebook? Or anywhere else?

Hi gents,

For those interested, I'll post an update of HUD4 in the upcoming days on this site.

FG

Gunny,

an update which is NOT identical with that version included in the 3.11 public beta?

Is that which you are going to post another beta?

Ralf,

I'll post here the sequel to HUD4 v1.1 as it is appearing in today's release. Work on what is in the release actually stopped in August; to allow 3.11 being published. But in fact, 1.11 was already in the pipes, with Mark and others' suggestions/fixes. What will be published here will be the beta for HUD4 v1.11. I hope, if I find some time, to do it by Sunday. Being currently kept busy at work, I'm struggling against time.

In other words, what was published with the beta version of ANW 3.11 was HUD-4 v1.1 (gold) and what Gunny will be posting in a few days, if I understand him correctly, will be HUD-4 v1.11 beta 1. (Would it help to call it HUD-4 v1.2 instead of HUD-4 v1.11?)

I think, regarding the file´s date, that his V 1.1 beta10 DB is included in that public release. And his next release will be beta11 or yes, v1.11 or v1.2. I really agree not to call it beta. Real version names are better. What is the difference between a beta database and a release version? I understand this regarding the game engine, but not regarding a database. Either the db is ok and should have a version number. Or it is not ready to release - and then it should not be released. These betas are confusing - can one trust them and write scenarios? Or not?

Yes, it was the 10th beta of 1.1 that was included to yesterday's release. It should have been a 1.0, but I added a flag to the editor, and it messed things up for other persons, and since I was working already on 1.1, 1.1 became in fact the 1st public appearance of HUD4. As for numbers, it will be 1.1, 1.11, 1.12....

Copy that.

For my part of the pledge, I will use this 3.11 with its included database = b10.

Not a problem, since all HUD4 versions follow each other. No platform is deleted, so that it doesn't cause any issue.

Very good. Have switched to V 3.11, though, since you made tons of changes in additions.

Good job, old Frenchman ^_^

I know this will rejoyce every American fellow here, HUD4 v1.11 next version now includes the upcoming CVN-80 Independance. She will be available from 2027 when using both countries and years' restrictions. Of course, since 2027 is still damn far away, there will be surely delays of all kinds, but HUD4 (and sequels) will keep a track of it.

HUD4 v1.11 updated version posted to the appropriate section. My XMas present to the Pooners' community. Merry end of year to each of you!*

Wasn't sure where to post this (sorry if it's in the wrong spot) but there's a major bug in the beta.

It might have been present with the previous version but not sure.

When bearing-only firing from subs and surface platforms (so torps and SAMs) the game crashes.

This is the only bug I've encountered but it's a pretty big one. Anyone else have this happen too?

Also, about the beta- is it less stable than the previous version? Any eta on the official release of 3.11?

Thanks

cheers
