August 4, 201114 yr Author Yes, and the political spectre is worsening for Cristina Fernandez de Kirschner after her political party losing the poll for Buenos Aires mayor: The probabilities of acquiring nuclear powered submarines aside, it is the aspirations for such weaponry, in combination with a continued claim upon the Falklands/Malvinas, a troubled Argentine government (we remember Galtieri and his own precarious situation pre 1982), and British power projection in decline, that make for a potentially uncertain future in the South Atlantic. And, scenario fodder, which is what this forum is about.
