November 2, 201015 yr Lots of BBC coverage. Big one for us here is the carrier agreement; this could result in a situation where (if France agreed) F-35s flew off Charles de Gaulle to defend the Falklands. Tabloids screaming from the rooftops, as to be expected; the entente cordiale has never quite reached the red-tops.
November 3, 201015 yr Yes, the key is "if France agreed". Scenario: Argentina re-captures the Falklands/Malvinas, and offer to France surreptitiously a good contract or privileges in the oil field entouring the islands (And I suposse UK has not oferted to France privileges about those oil fields).
November 14, 201015 yr From what i've seen this seems to have been overblown. Many of these such treatys have been signed in the past, I think the only tangiable cooperation in reality will be within NATO (which we want anyway) and nuclear research.
