  1. This story is like a prologue out a Tom Clancy or Larry Bond novel.
  2. A theory of an old mine drifting and impacting this vessel is possible, but is it probable? This theory looks to have a two-fold purpose. First, from the public perception it deescalates tensions with the North and secondly, again from the public perception, it eliminates a crew mishap with the DC, which would cause embarrassment to the crew and to the Navy. My guess is either it was an onboard error or a North Korean SS has one less torpedo in its inventory.
  3. A great resource you might consider is the book Shattered Sword: The Untold Story of the Battle of Midway by Jonathan Parshall and Anthony Tully. It examines in detail Japanese operations in this critical battle. I found it to be an excellent work on the subject.
  4. I wonder how the battle of Midway would've changed if Admiral Halsey was in command.
  5. I'll jump in. Let me know if you need some help.
  6. Gentlemen, Greetings to you all its been a while. I was the umpire for surge into the Barents. I found umpiring this scenario, interesting, fun, and disappointing. It was interesting to see how each player used their platforms. For insistence and unexpectedly the British submarine raised its periscope in the middle of the Barents Sea. Immediately soviet helicopter radar picked it up. Billions of dollars of stealth technology went down the drain. As an umpire I had a dilemma. Do I allow a completely unrealistic order or do I allow it? I opted for the latter respecting the player’s orders. Doing this gave the Soviet side an excellent start to the scenario. The scenario was fun to umpire since I could interact with many people who share the same interest. My wife is not really interested in Data Annexes. The scenario was disappointing to me personally because, although real life stuff does get in the way, I felt I let a lot of people down with my unexpectent ending of the game. I had full intentions of going to the very end. But it wasn’t to be. When umpiring a game you learn an awful lot about what to do and what not to do. When doing these types of games the umpire and players can only give there best efforts with the main goal for people to enjoy the hobby they’ve invested in. Currently I recently joined Mach Two Vampires: David & Goliath. My user name is “Hornet” Also, I would like to know what type of MBX would you like to see in the future and what is the best method or means to conduct an MBX.
