Hey Gunny, Keep up the great work on HUD 4 DB. I have made a scenerio where surface units must locate a lifeboat/liferaft as part of VC. I have been using the CIV Drifter [8m/12kts] entry it but may not be the most realistic representation. http://daesungeng.en.ec21.com/Totally_Enclosed_Lifeboat_Life_Boat--411866_411867.html This link has a list for enclosed lifeboats with various sizes. My concern is the speed and RCS. The drifter with a top speed of 12kts seems a bit fast for a larger enclosed lifeboat and I would think that a small, slowly drifting inflatable 6-man life raft, seemingly impossible to locate in the real world, would be even more difficult…

A number of civilian boats that are not currently armed could have armed versions. This would allow one to simulate various kinds of police and criminal vessels. CIV 5 m. Speedboat Small Arms <-- a terrorist version with machine guns is already available (I might change the 12.7 mm. machine gun to a 7.62 mm. machine gun), but an additional version could be added where the people aboard only have a few pistols and rifles. Obviously, the boat couldn't stand up to much, but might give a coast guard helicopter or some other lightly armed patrol platform a bit of trouble. Generic Drone Database text: A generic surveillance drone equipped with a TV camera and IR night vision. Basically, this is a remote control version of the Chotia Weedhopper, equipped with a camera with zoom (marine binoculars), IR night vision (night vision goggles), and MAYBE a laser designator for painting a target for other aircraft, etc. It is meant to simulate the dozens of drone models built by countries around the world. In Harpoon Commanders' Edition, you can have mines by treating them as small, immobile submarines with "torpedos" that have extremely short range. Would it be possible to do something like this in ANW? Scenarios involving mines would add a very interesting dimension to the game, especially since mines are cheap and it is a way for small or poor countries to give big or rich countries grief. One could also add mines, I guess, as a kind of torpedo, with no speed but infinite "fuel." If a ship gets too close...it goes off as it had hit the ship! But you would need minelayers to release them. But that would give us an excuse to add minelayers to the database. …
