The two classes of frigates used by the Mexican navy are former US ships, Bronstein- and Knox-class frigates. Did the Mexicans alter them in any significant way (i.e., do they need a separate listing in the database) or can they be used as is? In Harpoon Commanders' Edition, you can have mines by treating them as small, immobile submarines with "torpedos" that have extremely short range. Would it be possible to do something like this in ANW? Scenarios involving mines would add a very interesting dimension to the game, especially since mines are cheap and it is a way for small or poor countries to give big or rich countries grief. One could also add mines, I guess, as a kind of torpedo, with no speed but infinite "fuel." If a ship gets too close...it goes off as it had hit the ship! But you would need minelayers to release them. But that would give us an excuse to add minelayers to the database. …
