August 20, 201213 yr Malta class aircraft carrier http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malta_class_aircraft_carrier "The Malta class aircraft carrier was a British large fleet aircraft carrier design of World War II. Inspired by the strike capability of United States Navy aircraft carriers, the Malta design took onboard several American innovations in hangar design and aircraft operations. Three ships were ordered in 1943 for the Royal Navy. However, design work on the class was not completed before the end of the war, and all three ships were cancelled before construction started." --Wikipedia A ship that never was...but...what if? What if they had been built in the late 1940s, after some delays, and then refitted, perhaps in the 1970s, with Sea Cat or Sea Wolf missiles replacing some of the guns? What would the Falklands War have been like if a ship like this had been available, able to carry Sea Venoms, etc. Or any Cold War conflict, for that matter... ANW HUD 4 v1.1 b10
