The last Swedish ASW helicopters were retired in 2011, the events of October 2014 with mysterious submarines in Swedish waters showed the lack of a critical capability for a long time, as the future NFH90 ASW service entry is delayed probably to 2018-2020 (also Sweden losed retiring these HKP-4 a critical wood wildfire fighting asset). The NHF Five Star Mess Night beyond the Fight Top in the Navy Museum With Covid restrictions finally lifted, the Naval Historical Foundation hosted its third annual Mess Night on Saturday November 5 at the National Museum of the United States Navy. Airport named for WWII ace Pappy Boyington Posted : Thursday Aug 9, 2007 5:48:03 EDT COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — After more than a year of debate, the local airport has been renamed to honor the late Gregory H. “Pappy” Boyington, one of the most decorated U.S. military pilots in World War II. Marines Corps veterans shouted “oo-rah” in joy and thanks after Kootenai County commissioners voted 2-0 to approve the name Coeur d’Alene Airport-Pappy Boyington Field.
