Classic Revisited, Powers of Ten

Featured Replies

Absolutely out of topic, but I known some or most of us are long time interested in Theoretical Physics, Science Fiction and Cosmology.

A friend of mine (incidentally, PsyOps Officer in the Spanish Army, a woman with a spiced madness touch, and I'm almost sure she ignores my interests in these matters) had sent me casually this link

This documentary has remembered me the classical Powers of Ten (from the far 1968, from a world without Internet, GoogleEarth and almost without computers, but with hand-drawn animation and Cold War and Vietnam War in full activity), I don't remember very well when I saw it the first time, perhaps watching TV near 1970, and I think it was referenced or featured a lot of years later by Carl Sagan in Cosmos.

Watched for me today, Powers of Ten is superior to present day documentaries about the same topic.

And today, thanks to the digital miracle, is a matter of minutes to research, to remember, to cross references and to obtain a satisfactory result as this:

Interactive variant inspired in Powers of Ten, with mention to some more modern theories, as string theory and fractal multiverse:

A variant of the original documentary, and very near to it (I think embedded in a japanese TV program):

Watch it and enjoy it.
