October 20, 200619 yr Author but I didn't think anyone was a Mets fan. While not a rabid sports fan, my father would always be interesting in watching a game, either live or on tv. Unfortunately, I can remember countless times when he got up, waving his hand in virtual disgust after either the Mets or Jets, however improbably, yet again snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. I could even hear him late last night saying "same ole Mets" (or Jets for that matter - another chance for failure coming up on Sunday)
