Databases and Game Engine Upgrades

Featured Replies

For those who are using public beta versions, important note for when you upgrade your game engine!

BEFORE you upgrade, note the location of the commondb.res file that you are using. This is especially important if you use the databases from harpgamer or one of your own custom databases.

After you install the upgrade, start the game engine and click on the Battlesets button. Re-map the path back to the commondb.res. It should be in the same directory as your game engine.

It's a little quirk that is still in the installer system.

Actually the problem isn't entirely in the installer (and at that it isn't a quirk but rather someone not creating the install file correctly). I helped gkm get his battleset path corrected last night and the problems are much deeper, the solution is easy though, as he says, check now and then by using the Battlesets button on the GE and SE (as the battleset path is stored separately for each) that you are pointing to the appropriate game location. Contrary to AGSI statements, the HCGold and HCCE setting have not been properly divorced so you need to check the battleset path when switching back and forth between HCCE and HCGold.
