November 12, 200916 yr To re-awake this thread. I have been working on a "Pedestal" scenario that opens up with an attack on Malta. Problem is that the AI does not respond to a "guns" attack irrespective of wether bomber are escorted or not, so a 2 plane patrol of Spitfires can happily shot down 10-20 enemy planes without losses. You don't identify whether the planes in question are part of a mixed interceptor/bomber group, because that might play a factor. Otherwise, since all air-to-air guns are now equally ranged at 3.0 nm, I wonder if what you see is simply a matter of AI planes not having the endurance and speed to catch and kill the player's aircraft with the weapons they have (i.e. the guns).

Nope, head to head intercept within the range of the attackers, don't think that's the problem.
November 16, 200916 yr Ok, I turned this on its head and tried a fighter only sweep and it worked, so it would seem that the problem only appears in mixed groups.
