July 1, 200818 yr I am creating a new scenario for the Caribbean. To make the scenario really work I need to provide some intel to each side at a point several days into the events. Is their any way to have the staff come in and announce anything? Seems like if the ability to launchg a strike or recon asset at some time point exists, maybe the ability to provide intel at a time point would be easy also? RAS
July 1, 200818 yr Strangely enough even though it is possible to add a staff note in the scenario editor, it doesn't actually pop up when you run the scenario. It is something I would like to change at some point but for now you don't have the direct capability to give the player a message at a specific time.

Just makes sense to me to be able to provide intel that way - and if possible a probability of the report being delivered also. Always have wondered where the staff reports went, but since it does not id red or blue side I figured it was just not working... RAS
July 2, 200818 yr I'm not sure if this helps, but I'll throw it out anyway. Wouldn't ordering a unit to go active on it's sensors at a specific time force a Staff Alert? I believe EmCon Alpha is default for any group during scenario construction (a default which I feel avoids a multitude of potential design problems, I might add). Ordering a group to break EmCon and start radiating at a specific time might trigger a series of events that could help the designer in this case. Just an idea, Buddha

July 3, 200818 yr If by radiation detector you mean ESM, I believe it's always in play by default. It sounds like a good scenario you're working on there, and I look foreward to playing it once you work out the kinks. By all means, stick to not revealing any unecessary details here, since that would diminish the fun of playing once you're satisfied with what you've built. I don't know about other players, but the temptation to cheat a little runs pretty strong in me. Buddha

RAS Hmm, your specific situation might have a decent work around. How about in the Orders for the scenario stating that the player will be given nuclear release immediately upon detection of greater than natural levels of radiation, then granting nuclear release at the desired time? Or something along those lines?
