January 25, 20179 yr At this point, in this context, I think the cost of replacing missiles is less significant than the cost of taking damage. 2 more Uragans at A015. 1 more Uragan at H016. That's half my Uragans away, and hopefully no more significant air targets.
January 25, 20179 yr I am seeing only a single contact for A015 now with the latest SimPlot data. It is very low, making me think it is on a dumb bomb attack run rather than looking to launch Maverick.
January 25, 20179 yr I've got more RoF available. Think I should throw 5 Uragans at it? I wouldn't. If it does manage to evade your current allotment, and you get weapons separation, you will need em for the incoming missiles.
January 25, 20179 yr Author Well, Brad kinda spoiled it. I was trying to find a way to provide only the information that would be available to a player. So, you did actually shoot down another aircraft (with one remaining). But, it seems to me you would not know that until the next detection phase. Unless there is some other consideration in the rules or common sense?
January 25, 20179 yr Shouldn't think there'd be any other way to know. But I was planning on firing 2 Uragans at them anyway on the assumption it'd be one more per aircraft at least, so it doesn't change much. May have shot one more than I need.
January 26, 20179 yr Author It does raise a good question for weapon directors, though. If you saw two aircraft in the last detection phase, then you would naturally point two directors at those targets in the current fire phase. But, in reality there is only one target. So, a player would waste a director and missile on a phantom target. Maybe that is a reflection of the time it takes for the CIC crew to process and react to changing target information.
