Turn recap:

  • 1853 - fire Mk8.
  • 1853.5 - fire Mk8.
  • 1854 - fire Mk8.
  • 1854.5 - fire Mk8.
  • 1855 - fire Mk8.
  • 1855.5 - fire Mk8.

Your previous fire orders are complete. You have both vessels on radar but you do not have visibility of either. As a reminder, due to slightly reduced visibility, the range to see a small target is 9.5 nm and 11.0 nm for a medium target. It will be dark at 2000.

So, I have a few queries that will affect my plans in the near future, although perhaps not just yet.

1) Right now, range to see a small target is 9.5 nm, but it will deteriorate, and it will be dark at 2000. Though I don't suspect I will be at this great a range that long, I am curious what, roughly, the range to sight a small target will be at that time. I know the scenario has not specified a moon phase, so I wasn't sure what kind of decrease we should be expecting.

2) The ESM bearing does not appear to be evident on SimPlot any longer. Am I no longer picking up an ESM signal?

3) Is there an ammo limit for the Mk8 that I have missed somewhere?

For now, barring some change from the targets, keep current heading, slow to 8 kts, and continue maximum rate of fire for the Mk8 at the warship for 15 more minutes.

1) You are right there is no moon information for the scenario. I will say there is no moon which means the visual range is .6 nm, but your running lights are visible at 1.2 nm. Gun flashes will make you visible at 1.8 nm.

2) You are not picking up any ESM from the enemy warship.

3) H4 rules say there are no ammo limits except where noted (such as a Phalanx gun).
