January 13, 200818 yr Forgive me, but I won't try to give you the whole bug report. I think the screenshot is self-explanatory: a KC-135 tanker landed on an aircraft carrier Just to give you some background (perhaps to help reproduce), I'm still playing HDSI 11.0 in HCE. I have formed an AtG strike group out of 6 F-16s and a KC-135 for range extension. After the refueling was complete, I was asked where should the KC-135 land and among the options were all the aircraft carriers! So I though - what the hell - and decided to try it out . By the way, some time ago in HC 2002 I managed to land some C-130s on an aircraft carrier too
January 13, 200818 yr As yet I'm unable to reproduce this but I think I have seen it happen. If you have more info (or a tiny test scenario + instructions to reproduce), we'd be most interested.
January 13, 200818 yr I get this randomly. I've had F-22's, F-15's, Raptors, C-130's, P-3's all end up on the flight deck of carriers at one stage or another.
January 13, 200818 yr I remember this happening In Beta testing a while ago. I'll see if it is in the closed section of Mantis.
January 13, 200818 yr It's Mantis #1906 from 1/17/07. At the time it was put on hold to allow work on major issues and eventually closed. I'm not moving this to Mantis; if necessary, it can be reopened.
January 14, 200818 yr Author I think I might have some more clues into this bug. First of all, it also happened to me more than once yesterday that when a plane group released from a carrier parted ways with their tanker, I was asked again where do I want to land the tanker and only land-based airports were given. Luckily - if you click Cancel, the tanker will return to its mother ship, so it's OK. But right now I had a very strange situation - a tanker separated from a carrier-launched plane group and in a list of available landing spots there was a carrier supposedly 65nm from this group, while in fact it was at a much further distance. But what I realized is that while this tanker disconnected, I had another group selected by mouse - a different plane group launched from a different carrier - and that one might indeed have been 65nm from its carrier. The corollary would be that by some bug, when a tanker splits from its group, the dialog box asking for a landing spot draws (some or all of) its data from currently selected group, and not from the tanker itself. (I don't know what happens when a base or ship group is selected - maybe then it just works fine.) [sorry, again no game save - I don't know, maybe my autosave doesn't work properly, or maybe I haven't set some option. Theoretically it's set to 1min, but when I tried to open the autosave file, it was from waaay back in time in that mission.]
