March 25, 201115 yr Problem is with seeing the orders when playing from a saved game. Situation: I started a user scenario, played for a while, then saved it. In this case in the Westpac battleset, the Duel_v2 scen. I come back later and load the save. I cannot call up the orders to review as HCE says it can't find them. Judging by the error message it appears to be trying to create the file name for the orders based on the *save file* name and not the original scenario. I've seen this behavior too in other scenarios, always a user scenario. Saves from a campaign scen do not seem to have this problem. Is there a fix or a work-around for this ?

This typically happens when you store your savegame file in a directory other than the directory where the scenario files are stored.
March 26, 201115 yr Author This typically happens when you store your savegame file in a directory other than the directory where the scenario files are stored. I will check that out. My setup has been to store downloaded scenarios in a 'Scenario' folder under HCE. The battlesets are under HCE where the game install puts them. Looks like the save games are going to the Scenarios folder also.
March 26, 201115 yr I encountered the problem as well, probably as I store all my scenarios and save games in database specific folders (e.g. HCCW, db65-80,...). An easy 'cure' to the problem is to copy the scenario description to a file named after your save game. For example, the Israel strike on Iran is named IRNISR10.*, so I copy IRNISR10.BLv to israel-iran.BLv, as my save game is named israel-iran.hpv.
April 3, 201115 yr You are all dancing right around the simplistic reason orders don't follow into saved games. The original scenario obviously has the orders in a separate file of the same name and that is exactly how the game engine connects the two, by filename. There is no mechanism currently in the saved game file that indicates what scenario file the saved game came from so there is no way to work back to the orders. Some random day in the future I'll change that but for now you are stuck with the workarounds suggested in this thread.
