Scenario Design & Discussion

After Action Report: French Ivory A scenario by Mark Gellis 'French Ivory' is a new HCE scenario for the 'South Africa' Battleset. I played the scenario using beta 2008.042. The Marine Nationale (French Navy) task force AAS deployed to West Africa consisted of the Mistral class amphibious assault ship Mistral (L9013), the Forbin (Horizon) class anti-air warfare frigate Chevalier Paul (D621), and the modernized La Fayette class frigate Courbet (F712). Deployed aboard Mistral were sixteen brand new helicopters, including ten NH90 Tactical Transport Helicopters (for the Commandos de Marine, or naval commandos also deployed aboard) and six Tiger HAP combat helic…

Well, I finally got the new Harpoon (HCE). So far, I'm very impressed. A couple of questions... First, it seems like you can only load one extra battleset (South Africa, etc.) at a time. All the files use the hdsu.res and hdsu.rsr files and each time you load a new one, it replaces the last one. The scenario files remain, but you need to restore the appropriate map to play it, I guess. (I tried changing the file to something like hdsv.res, but it didn't work.) Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? Second, how do you get AI subs to move in the scenario editor? Do you set a course, and THEN set a speed, or what? So far, they just sit where …
