May 26, 201015 yr Hi Folks, I have recently installed version 2009.042 on a new Gateway netbook running XP. The game seems to work ok but when I issue a patrol order for a base I can not see the box to click OK and I can not go any further in the game. If any one knows a solution to this issue I would appreciate the help.
May 26, 201015 yr Netbook could be tough. Start with the game closed and run http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?a...mp;showfile=228 to reset window positions (pretty much for a 640x480 screen). Run the game again. If you still can't see the dialogs you'll have to exit the game and start editing the registry. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Matrix Games\HCE\Options within the subkeys of the above you'll see some with top/bottom/right/left, adjust those numbers so that they will be visible on your screen. Note, most of the window subkeys are lower-case (group, staff, report,...) vs game settings that have some uppercase letters (SavedGamePath, SatffFormation,...).

September 1, 201015 yr I have the same problem on a netbook. I found this post http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?showtopic=2321 which I will try tonight hoping that it will resolve the issue.
September 7, 201015 yr I have the same problem (I think). I am running window 7 home edition and have tried the compatibility fixes but nothing resolves the issue. Under the orders button the Attack Depth and Speed Course change Formation boxes are cut off and I can not play the game. I had a Win xp system and it worked fine. Any ideas? I down loaded the clear registry file and it seems to be working now Ok, just DL'ed the demo on my work computer and so far I've had no issues, Windows 7, did not set any compatability modes.. It started right up with no problems and has been playing just fine. So for future issues, it does indeed seem that it was just an isolated registry issue and that setting compatability modes is not necessary.
