Hi guys,

installing HUCE right now. After all the updates from the Matrix Games server, what should I update? There are various DB's here... a bit confused. I'd like to play the scenarios which come with HUCE. So there is one DB I shall download for an update?

BTW: will the Tactics 101 get extended with "Part 4: ASW in HCE ... to come"? 😃

Hi Cabal, the latest HCDB is 

 That is leveraged by the built-in scenarios in the EC2003 and newer BattleSets.  All of the older BattleSets (EC2000 and before) have their own databases embedded in the BattleSets themselves.  

If you eventually feel comfortable, jump to the beta version of the game.  The most recent is always posted in the beta section: 

 

Thx TonyE! So, playing the old scenarios/BattleSets which originally come with HUCE.. I don't need to update anything right? Except of going for the beta? 

Is there an easy way to check if I have everything completely up-to-date?

Correct, if you install the beta, it will have the updated database already (in this case, that isn't always true).  

There is no super simple way to check if everything is up to date.  However, once you have installed the beta, fire up the game, load a scenario (Westpac 1.0 is a good choice), then close the game. In your game directory you will find a ge.log file, you can e-mail that to me tonye@harpgamer.com and I'll take a look.  You'll see the file lists the build of the game, the database loaded, and a few other miscellaneous tidbits.
