That confirms S009 is indeed the Krivak.

The pilots of the P-3 and F-4 hear a request from the Soviet ships to identify and remain beyond 25nm from the convoy.

F4 to approach to 26nm from nearest Soviet ship and maintain that distance until ordered otherwise or bingo fuel.

 

Keep searching with APQ-120 radar.

Are we identifying ourselves as well? We can just saying "Islamic Republic of Iran Aircraft" or something like that.

In the first radio challenge the P-3 identified itself as Iranian.
