November 30, 20169 yr To speed things along I executed several Tactical Turns using your last known intentions. The Kashin has taken 7 more gun hits and now has 87 damage points and 0 speed. The Kashin is effectively dead in the water with many systems destroyed and a minor fire. Your lookouts can now see the enemy warship, and it does not appear to be damaged. I believe it's not possible for you to achieve any scenario victory goals. What are your intentions? turn_1909_blue.txt turn_1909_blue_intl.txt
December 1, 20169 yr Author Since you cannot protect the merchant, it will eventually be sunk. I am calling this scenario as a victory for Red player. You played very well for having no experience with the paper rules. Are you a computer Harpoon player?
December 1, 20169 yr Thanks. It was a little hard for me to visualize some of the things especially with out knowing the platforms and rules.I have been playing Harpoon since it came out on 5 1/4 floppy disks.Tony and I played in a game of board version Harpoon when we met in Milwaukee, WI at NAVCON 2014Playing Harpoon this way makes me appreciate all the work that Tony and all the other developers of HC have put in to make it work the way it does.I have actually created a fictional database based on the HC official database with futuristic weapons, planes and ships.I have read lots of books on WW II naval battles in the Pacific. On top of that I was a sonar tech in the Navy chasing subs around on one of the first 3 surface ships with towed arrays in the late 70's
