November 25, 20169 yr With loosing visual site of contact place radar in air mode. Change course on Kashan to 290 at 17kts. Maintain a zigzag course between 250 and 290. Will make decision when finding range to Iranian ship is determined.
November 25, 20169 yr Author The Kashin has both air and surface search radars. I take it you want to find the range to the enemy ship by activating the surface search radar (or maybe all radars?). As a general rule, if he can detect you (and direct accurate gunfire your way), then you can detect him, too.
November 26, 20169 yr Turn on Surface search Radar and continue Kashan's zigzagging course. Sweep radar until course and range is determined to Iranian ship and then place surface search radar in standby mode. Merchant ship to continue on course 270 at 17kts.
November 26, 20169 yr Author OK. FYI, per H4 paper rules, it will take two minutes to determine course and speed of newly detected radar targets. Also, there is no negative modifier to the enemy gun hit chance by zig-zagging.
