Can someone explain the meanings of CAS, BAI and SIOP in the EC2003 battlesets?

Sure can.

CAS - Close Air Support

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Close_air_support

Or, whacking the enemy who is shooting at friendlies.

BAI - Battlefield Air Interdiction

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_interdiction

Or, whacking the enemy who is about to shoot at friendlies or be shot at by them.

SIOP - Single Integrated Operational Plan

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_Integr...perational_Plan

Or, "How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb". ;)

Close Air Support - often rockets, napalm

Battlefield Interdiction - often CBUs

Single Integrated Operational Plan - Nukes

To put it in very simple terms, think of BAI and CAS the same way, which is basically a supression mission. You want to make the bad guys stop shooting at friendlies.

SIOP...think of making a very large, glowing parking lot.

I guess "NUKE" is too un-PC.

Oh well.

No, it just lacks that cool "insider" feel that SIOP has ...
