July 6, 201411 yr Being absent from this games for 15 or so years, can someone remind me in EC2003 IOPG " The Long View" Where is the C2 that is supposed to be ready in Pakistan?
July 6, 201411 yr As I read the orders, the COD is supposed to be in Bangkok, but I don't see it listed in the OOB. It may only be mentioned to explain the scenario without actually being used. Buddha

July 9, 201411 yr And it has since occurred to me that a C-2 would lack the range to fly direct from Bangkok to Diego Garcia.
July 9, 201411 yr Upon closer examination, I believe the orders are to deliver the Emir to the CVBG using assets in the gulf, and then the COD is supposed to pick him up on the carrier and deliver him to Diego Garcia. I also see there's no C2 aboard the carrier, not the case we had when I was aboard the Midway and operated in that area. We flew pony, pax, etc. on and off on a daily basis. The whole situation seems to be unnecessarily confusing, although for the purpose of playing the scenario, I doubt it will make any real difference. If nothing else, this seems to be borne out by the fact that the scenario has been around for years and nobody ever noticed it until now, myself included. This seems to be one of the reason a look by fresh eyes at things can be beneficial at times. Thanx mrb365. Buddha

It was certainly noticed before, but just didn't have any impact on the scenario (other than to potentially confuse folks). The actual orders: 2.0 ORDERS: An MH-53J Pave Low is on alert near Kuwait International (ABa). Use it to deliver the Emir to TF68.0 (AIC) in the Gulf of Oman. A C-2 Cod is ready in Bangkok (AJa) and available to pick up the Emir aboard TF 68.0 and deliver him to Diego Garcia (AKb). This mission has been given the Highest priority by the NCA and all efforts should be made to guarantee the safe arrival of the Emir. The Nimitz is even further away from Bangkok than Diego Garcia.
July 10, 201411 yr I'm sure it was noticed, I should have said it wasn't considered important enough to bring up before, at least not here. I suppose the CVBG could proceed to a place between Bangkok and Diego Garcia and carry the COD flight out from there, but I can't see them leaving station like that either. Confusing orders in the Navy, I'm "shocked, shocked". Buddha
