ANW HUD 4 v1.1 b10 The tandem two-seater F9F-8T/TF-9J Cougar (1957-1974) was indeed the only variant employed in Vietnam. From my personal notes: "This was the only version of the Cougar to see combat, four TF-9J of H&MS-13 (Headquarters and Maintenance Squadron Thirteen, The Outlaws) with underwing rockets (for target marking) and flying from Chu Lai were used in the fast FAC role, directing airstrikes against enemy positions in South Vietnam during 1966 and 1967."
