Mines already have an own DP of 1, while 'minesweeping gear' has DP 2 (to ensure a kill).

 

Because of the way mines are modeled (as submarines), any ASW weapon can destroy them, but in practise, I expect most often you will be wanting to save your ASW weapons for real submarines.
