Any suggestions on additional beginner-friendly scenarios?

Just played through that scenario...much more satisfying!

So, I'm running through GIUK 1.0 with cheat mode on, and I notice that my submarine only detects a surface contact within the dark green range circle and not the light green circle. I am running only with passive sonar. I don't understand why I'm not detecting the ship when it is within the light green range circles.

Are there good non-cheating ways to search for subs? I assume the Intruders aren't useful for that.

Wow, thank you so much! I will try all of those suggestions! i love this game, but it’s been terribly frustrating not being able to get through even the most basic scenario.

I can't find all the ships in the GIUK tutorial. Any tips? I've tried it a hundred times following the instructions, and retracing steps at creep speed when unable to find ships.
