They updated it quickly to 1.63D. Still, it's puzzling they did not bother to check that beforehand. My theory is today's Microprose is a very small team. They keep adding games to their portfolio and it may be hard to keep an eye on everything for them. Just a guess on my side. I wonder why, from all versions, they have selected 97 to release after all? Why not repackage CE version, stick the latest patch from TonyE and market it as the latest, updated version, better than Matrix one etc. ?

Well, al least it all means Harpoon still has some future.

I guess, this is somehow tied to the fact that MicroProse plans to re-release Harpoon Classic '97 soon? I.e. they are the new owner of the brand.

Some official update would create some renewed interest in Harpoon again, I think. I thought the franchise is already dead and surely most people moved to Command during last years. I did as well. However, Command lacks the atmosphere of war, it's a good but lifeless simulation. So there's still a place in the market for good Harpoon as well. Accidentaly, I found this forum and I see that someone still works on CE which is a nice surprise.

4.2 is coming. I wonder if I need to have the 4.0 version to play the game with it?

Sorry for interrupting your listing here but I'm just curious - are those updates available anywhere? HUCE updates is not catching them.
