Thanks, do you know any good programs I can get for free that read excel database files? Preferably lightweight programs compatible with windows 2000? Sorry I am still around, just a lot happening in the world recently.

Nice, you can always count on the internet community (I don't know anyone here). I will keep looking up public domain images for fun and because it helps you guys. Thanks warhorse for converting those. Edit: okay I meant this to be a reply. From the other thread that I so shamefully created. @TonyE: alright so I should find straight public domain pics basically.

Boarding parties on Patrol Boats
I have occasionally considered doing the same, but modeling the 'boarding party' as a low RCS missile, a torpedo or a gun is not ideal, and so I've refrained from going there until (maybe someday) something better comes along. It would be hard to do and you have to add a flag to some ships as uncapturable, such as carriers or other military ships that have preventative measures against boarding or are simply to massive for an effective boarding vs a smaller vessel. Is it possible that the game engine allows you to remove a vessel and replace it with a duplicate on the opposite alignment? I am not a programmer, just throwing my 2c.

What does this mean? Does that mean you guys can use the image? Sorry I am kind of dumb when it comes to copyright law and I don't like them much. Edit: I think I kind of understand, you can use some of them but its a pain? Sorry for my ignorance, I quoted some of the stuff you posted at the top and I'll use this post later for more ships and stuff. Edit2: For the most part I'm trying to stick with vessels and craft that would be relevant in a modern conflict, I hope it helps.

Well it is rather enjoyable looking at all the cool vehicles and ships. Sorry, my computer really sucks and this is all I can do, if I tried to convert and resize them all it would take me an eternity compared to someone who can support better software.

Public Domain DB Pics Thread
Ah, okay didn't realize that, I'll have to look into them then and post more along with each image. All the images above are stored and linked directly from wiki commons. There is severe weather coming through St Louis though so I may have to get off of here in a bit though. That sucks though, I bet most of them will be copyrighted. I can't really get any of those programs and mess with the images myself, because my computer is very old and running Windows 2000. Even programs like GIMP run horribly slow and are troublesome. I'll do more in a bit there are tornados on the ground up here.

Public Domain DB Pics Thread
Here we can link to and contribute public domain pics for the latest DB. Anything on wikipedia is game right? I think it will be important to track in this thread the proof of public domain status of each image and the ID number that you and Brad assign to each image (or IDs assigned if they are used for more than one commondb.rsr). A link to a high resolution version of the file is also a hopeful contribution to the goal of being able to use higher resolution media down the road. Absolutely. The images haven't been a priority for me because the DB is already a lot of work, but feel free to PM me. I'll start a thread linking to them, maybe someone will be able to convert them.

Can I help by finding public domain pictures for you? I don't have the necessary programs on this computer to convert them to bmp though.
