In Harpoon Commanders' Edition, you can have mines by treating them as small, immobile submarines with "torpedos" that have extremely short range. Would it be possible to do something like this in ANW? Scenarios involving mines would add a very interesting dimension to the game, especially since mines are cheap and it is a way for small or poor countries to give big or rich countries grief. One could also add mines, I guess, as a kind of torpedo, with no speed but infinite "fuel." If a ship gets too close...it goes off as it had hit the ship! But you would need minelayers to release them. But that would give us an excuse to add minelayers to the database. …

The two classes of frigates used by the Mexican navy are former US ships, Bronstein- and Knox-class frigates. Did the Mexicans alter them in any significant way (i.e., do they need a separate listing in the database) or can they be used as is? Some thoughts... I'm assuming one reason for holding off on adding actual boarding parties is that, in theory, they should not do damage but cause a vessel to change from Hostile to Friendly (i.e., capture it). I imagine this is probably a major headache to program and probably a lot more difficult than simply making a few additions or changes to the database. The HH-60G, HH-60J, and HH-65 all appear to have a 7.62 machine gun. Is there a way to give them a "door gunner" loadout, like the CSAR version of the Cougar? Perhaps in addition to a boarding party, helicopters used for law enforcement might have a Law Enforcement Team loadout that could "destroy" a…

A few quick comments/questions/etc. about the troop loadouts... 1) I noticed the UH-60 has a paratrooper platoon as one of its loadouts? Can it carry that many troops? 2) Would the MH-53J have room for two platoons? 3) A couple of loadouts that look like they're already in the database but have not been added to actual aircraft... * Ranger Squad * USMC Squad * Boarding Team * DEA Team 4) A few troops are in the database, but I did not find them being used anywhere (e.g., Australian forces, Navy SEALS, etc.), although it is possible I just missed them 5) If possible, it would be great special forces/marines/paratroopers from other nations c…
