Intelligence estimates that its only a matter of time before China, and several South East Asian countries join up. Strangely enough, Vietnam remains decidedly neutral and even leaning toward Allied sympathies;…

After Action Report for 'Running on Empty' A scenario by Clemens 'Running on Empty' is a new HCE scenario for the Westpac battleset. I played the scenario from the BLUE side using GE Build 2009.064 and the HCDB database. Scenario Background Orders I am in charge of a large formation of ships (32 in all) comprised of roughly half warships and half commercial shipping (mostly oil tankers and LNG (liquid natural gas) carriers). All but one of the warships (the Bunker Hill class cruiser USS Chosin) belong to the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), including the new 'carrier' Shirane. Having just cleared the Malacca Straits, the group must now m…

File Name: Back to Baghdad File Submitter: CV32 File Submitted: 7 Apr 2007 File Category: IOPG Back to Baghdad EC2000 Battle for the Gulf of Oman It is late 2002, and the prospect of war in the Persian Gulf is once again considered very likely. The US has already deployed large forces to the theater in preparation for what looks to be an inevitable conflict with Iraq, and the buildup continues. The political landscape, however, is very different from what it was in 1991. Both Saudi Arabia and Turkey, key Coalition partners in Operation Desert Storm, have this time refused to permit American forces to deploy troops at their installations or launch offensive ope…

This scenario is designed for play by the BLUE side. Environmental terrorists have disabled the world's first floating nuclear power plant, the massive Russian Rosenergoatom-Sevmash platform in the Barents Sea, inadvertently triggering a meltdown of one of the two reactors and a resultant environmental catastrophe. The eco terrorists are a previously unknown group, going by the name Des…

File Name: CV32 File Submitter: CV32 File Submitted: 7 Apr 2007 File Category: GIUK CV32 EC2000 Battle for the Norwegian Sea Sweden is taking brave steps to hold back the Russian offensive in the Baltic Sea. The odds are stacked against their success. The USAF has sent forces into the theater to help turn the tide, and the British have deployed the first of a new class of aircraft carriers formerly known as the CVF (modeled by the Saratoga). With an air wing of F/A-18E Hornets (the British JSF was cancelled in this timeline), including several new EA-18G Growler (modeled by the EA-7L), the British hope to act quickly to save the Swedes and open the door for th…

File Name: Doolittle Two File Submitter: CV32 File Submitted: 7 Apr 2007 File Category: GIUK Doolittle Two EC2000 Battle for the Norwegian Sea The Russians have launched a massive attack throughout the Norwegian Sea theater, seizing a beachhead near Orland about halfway down the coast of Norway. The Norwegians are still in the fight, but it is doubtful for how long. The enemy has followed up their first wave of attacks with the deployment of not one, but two, very large carrier battle groups. Intel indicates that both Kuznetsov and Varyag have put to sea, together with a large number of escorts, including nuclear powered battlecruisers and ASW carriers. At lea…

Has anyone played or written a scenario where nuke release should occur but sometimes doesn't even though it's in the scenario when viewed in the se and the game has been started with nuke release enabled. It seems random, sometimes it's triggered sometimes it seems not. It's just a feeling I have at the moment, ive been intrigued by a comment in Wikipedia re the second taiwan crisis stating that if it had escalated the usa was prepared to use nukes, so of course ive written them into some scenarios but they don't always seem to trigger. I'm currently using the last matrix patch game and scen edit 2022.027 for this scenario for widest distribution.

Kilo Crush - EC2003 MEDC By Mark Gellis According to my orders, I was not allowed to freely engage the Kilos until they were east of Sicily. I decided that that a more pressing problem would be finding them in the first place. Therefore, I elected to employ a barrier strategy whereby I hoped to locate and track the Kilos at the narrowest point of their journey; the area between Sicily and Tunis. I moved my surface and submarine assets there as expeditiously as possible. As DDG Luigi Durand and DD Jean de Vinne moved into the area, the DDG reported, "Transients! Incoming torpedoes". There had been no indication of submarine activity. She immediately changed …

View File WW2 Battle of Coral Sea (Alternative) In WW2 to strengthen their defensive position in the South Pacific, the Japanese decided to invade and occupy Port Moresby (in New Guinea) and Tulagi (in the southeastern Solomon Islands). The plan, Operation MO, involved several major units of Japan's Combined Fleet. Two fleet carriers and a light carrier were assigned to provide air cover for the invasion forces. The U.S. learned of the Japanese plan through signals intelligence and sent two U.S. Navy carrier task forces and a joint Australian-American cruiser force to oppose the offensive. On 3-4 May, Japanese forces invaded and occupied …
