Rafale's mods

Featured Replies

Here are the modifications i applied to "my" DB (in fact, HCDB-050124 on my HDD).

I verified sources, at least, twice, most figures comes from Jane's publications, H4 or real life professionnams working with this plane.

Rafale B (id.10382)

Fuel: 4180

Range: 980

Text:

The Rafale is a twin-engine, multi-role aircraft designed to provide improved survivability, lethality, availability and maintainability over current Mirage 2000 aircraft. The Rafale aircraft family will be operational well into the 21st century, beyond 2040. It will be able to accommodate all the current weaponry of the French Armed Forces inventory, as well as munitions available in the future. The Rafale aircraft will perform air defense, surface attack, nuclear deterrent, and reconnaissance missions with minor changes on the airframe.

The Rafale aircraft will be available in three 3 models: Rafale M for carrier based operations, and Rafale B and C for conventional airfield based operations. They will replace up to 6 aircraft types within the French Armed Forces (Super Etendard, Crusader, Mirage F1, Jaguar, Mirage IV, and early Mirage 2000).

The two-seat Rafale B has been designed to perform precision ground attack, reconnaissance and nuclear strike missions. It will replace current Jaguar, Mirage F1, Mirage IV and Mirage 2000N aircraft. The French Air Force requires up to 139 Rafale Bs through 2019 to replace aging aircraft. The Rafale B is scheduled to achieve IOC in 2006.

The single-seat Rafale C will perform air-to-air missions. The French Air Force will procure up to 95 Rafale Cs through 2019. The first squadron equipped with the Rafale C will achieve initial operational capability in 2006. It will replace current Mirage F1 and Mirage 2000B/C aircraft.

The single-seat Rafale M (Marine) has been developed to replace the Super Etendard and Crusader aircraft onboard the French aircraft carrier/s. It will perform any mission currently carried out by current French carrier-based aircraft. Rafale M achieved initial operational capability in 2002 onboard the Charles de Gaulle nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. The French plans to procure up to 60 Rafales to equip two aircraft carriers.

*RBE2(id.43207), his PD should be 65 rather than 60 thanks to it's last developpement that make it "high agility beam", "synthetic aperture radar (SAR)" capable and the first "look-down / shoot-down" airborne multimode phased-array radar developed in Europe.

U can see the loadouts i designed for my own usage here, feel free to use it ;)

They are based from real life rafale's validation videos, pilots indications and Jane's publications.

I used the rule i exposed on this forum (loadout multipliers) to match as close as possible the effects on range and DATA that specific loadouts can have.
