May 13, 200818 yr To anyone who tried my Falklands test scenario -- thank you and I do appreciate input. Thank you to CV32 who has updated the HCDA database to allow planes on the Atlantic Conveyor & its sister ship. I have just figured out how to simulate the Black Buck raids -- the bombing of Port Stanley from Ascension Island -- by using enough tankers and the split/join function to create groups where the tankers get refueled. With this we ought to be able to create a nice battleset of the '82 conflict. More to come.
May 14, 200818 yr Author Well, some news. First, the battleset map needs to be modified, as some of the Argentinian Air Bases used in the 82 war are cut off. However, Matrix gave us the tool to do this, and I would want the scenarios to eventually be integral to the battleset, so this is only a minor nuisance. Second, the San Julian base at which were based 10 Daggers of Grupo 6 and 15 A-4Cs of Grupo 4 de Caza does not seem to appear when it should. I have asked CV32 to check the database to see if its location is entered correctly. Third, I envision a modern rematch scenario. To do this, I have asked CV32 to add the newer Endurance to the database. Fourth, to keep up interest, I am posting my current version of the South Georgia scenario. Its blue only. More to come.

The SouthAtlantic battleset found here should cover all of the relevant Argentine bases. Second, the San Julian base at which were based 10 Daggers of Grupo 6 and 15 A-4Cs of Grupo 4 de Caza does not seem to appear when it should. I have asked CV32 to check the database to see if its location is entered correctly. Yah, noticed that myself. Will be fixed in the next update. Until then, its easy for you to manually change the location of the base in the SE. Third, I envision a modern rematch scenario. To do this, I have asked CV32 to add the newer Endurance to the database. I'll look at it.
May 15, 200818 yr Author Thank you CV32. I have one more request for the database, ARA Comodoro Py (D-27), which was part of 25 de Mayo escort in the initial invasion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Perkins_(DD-877) 2 more scenarios uploaded. Invasion (missing Comodoro Py) Black Buck I forsee 5 more, then I'll try to put them all together as an historical battleset: Approach (my original test scenario finished and with more historic deployments) Pebble Island San Carlos Final Assault Rematch maybe Prequel (Invasion with the 1977 flotilla) http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2005/jun/01/argentina.military These larger ones won't come so quick.
May 15, 200818 yr Its no small undertaking to try and recreate this campaign in HCE, so we're happy you've dove headlong into the job. Consider the 'Comodoro Py' added to the HCDA. It'll appear in the next update.
May 18, 200818 yr I approved your battleset file upload but removed the HCDA from it. The HCDA is already available from the Downloads section. I did not check, however, whether your battleset file differs from what is already available there. Is yours a new map?

I did not check, however, whether your battleset file differs from what is already available there. Is yours a new map? I had to change the borders to get Southern Thule on the map for the 1977 scenario. Also I moved the western border slightly as Rio Gallegos kept disappearing. Not sure I moved it far enough though. (fixed with update, sorry I hadn't noticed this)
May 18, 200818 yr Congratulations on the release of the new battleset. I was running through the second scenario "Retaking South Georgia" and noticed that the Argentine sub is sitting motionless. Is this intentional? or did you forget to set an initial group speed for it?
May 18, 200818 yr Author Congratulations on the release of the new battleset. I was running through the second scenario "Retaking South Georgia" and noticed that the Argentine sub is sitting motionless. Is this intentional? or did you forget to set an initial group speed for it? Its supposed to start moving (on the surface, don't know why but thats what it did) at 1 sec. I will check it.
May 19, 200818 yr Author Congratulations on the release of the new battleset. I was running through the second scenario "Retaking South Georgia" and noticed that the Argentine sub is sitting motionless. Is this intentional? or did you forget to set an initial group speed for it? My apologies to all. I have added start speeds to all my files, rather than just have the AI start ships moving at 1 second. I hope this makes these more fun for everyone.
May 22, 200818 yr You might also want to take a look at the SSNs in the scenarios. I think that the "Approaching the TEZ" employs the 1998 version of the Spartan with Spearfish torpedoes. Those suckers are phenomenal.
May 22, 200818 yr I think maybe wmarsh built the scenario before I had added the 1982 version of that sub class.
May 23, 200818 yr Author I think maybe wmarsh built the scenario before I had added the 1982 version of that sub class. Thank you for noticing this. I had made the first scenarios before 82 versions of Swiftsure and Valiants were added. I have corrected those scenarios. In the newer ones, I had added the later arriving subs in their 1982 versions, but as I had not noticed this change, the earlier arriving subs remained in the 98 versions. I have corrected this also. Thanks to CV32 for updating HCDA database. Because of that, I have add the missing ship (Comodoro Py) to the 82 and 77 Invasion scenarios. All scenarios and the battleset should be correct now.
