Ukrainian Submarine Starts Submerged Sea Trials

MOSCOW, July 19 (RIA Novosti)

 

Ukraine’s only submarine, the Zaporozhye, underwent first-stage sea trials including running submerged on Wednesday after undergoing a major refit, Kommersant Ukraine reported on Thursday.

With the reactivation of its old Foxtrot, Ukraine is taking babysteps toward restarting a submarine program. As the old saying goes - a journey of 1,000-miles begins with a single step. Sure a full-blown program is years away, but ya gotta start somewhere, right.
