July 12, 201214 yr I have noticed, when I set up missions for various sides in ANW, that the game does not start missions for the side I am playing automatically. For example, if I want a task force to patrol an area defined by certain reference points, the game has no trouble starting patrols for the sides controlled by the computer, but does not start them automatically for the side I am playing. It does not even seem to remember them (if I open Edit Mission, they are not even there) and makes me set up the missions all over again. It also does not launch aircraft for formations or missions automatically. It does remember ASW/ASuW/AAW zones, but if I design a scenario with a couple of aircraft on CAP, it does not launch them if I am playing that side; it waits for me to do it. Is this a bug in ANW? Am I doing something wrong? Is it supposed to be this way--i.e., if you are playing a particular side, the game just "forgets" any per-programmed missions and lets you set up your missions fresh every time you play? Thanks in advance. Mark
July 13, 201214 yr Yes it is "desired" effect of the game, when playing with Game Engine. If you want to have your missions set automatically, 2 ways: -In Game: plot all missions and save the scen (.sav extension), and play with saved games only -Scenario Editor: keeps memory of all missions, but at the loss of some important things such as links with subs. July 13, 201214 yr The Mission Editor was a true stroke of genius by whoever came up with it. I'd give a lot for something similar in Harpoon Classic. Personally, I prefer to look the situation over and construct the missions I see as necessary each time I play a scenario. Having them built in for the player would also make it necessary to cancel whatever might be preprogrammed if I want to make any changes. Just my view. Buddha
