Can you edit an ammo dump?

Featured Replies

Quick question...

If I add an ammo dump to an airfield, and want to use Aircraft Logistics, can I modify what is in a particular ammo dump? For example, could I take out all the Harpoons from a US ammo dump ("Sorry, we used them all...you'll have to rely on iron bombs!")? Or add other kinds of ammunition? If so, how do you do this?

(I mean in a particular scenario, like editing the number of aircraft at a base...I do NOT want to be messing around with the actual database...that way, I am sure, tragedy lies...)

I am using the HUD3 database right now.

Or is it something that is fixed, each ammunition dump is a database entry like a ship, and what you get is what you get, period?

Thanks.

Mark,

no problem...and another one of H2s/H3s/ANWs finesses: klick on the ammo dump. Then hit the logistics button. A window pops up - you are in the ammo dump. Now click on the unit you are interested and edit the number.

No problem!

Got it. Sweet. And now I see how to use the generic ammo dumps (good for modeling what a small country might have or not have, etc.)...just add it, open it, add however many weapons they may have, and Harpoon does the rest. Extra sweet. :) Thank you!

A good practice is to make your magazine edits, and then place your aircraft and check to see what loadouts are available. As often as not, removing certain sensor pods from the magazine may do the job as opposed to removing several weapon records. It can save you alot of time.

A point to make here is that, since sensor/ECM/EW pods aren't expended (unless lost with an aircraft that gets shot down) you don't have to provide the exact quantity of pods as weapons available. However doing so will allow for the correct display of available loadouts.

EXAMPLE:

Loadout SEAD #xyz

AGM-88 - HARM Blk. I, II (2/2)

AIM-120A/B AMRAAM '91+ (2/2)

AIM-9M - Sidewinder (2/2)

600 USG Drop Tank - (F-15E) (2/2)

AN/ASQ-213 Harm Targeting Pod (1/1)

MAGAZINE

AGM-88 - HARM Blk. I, II (120/2400)

AN/ASQ-213 Harm Targeting Pod (24/96)

When loading an aircraft only 24 x Loadout SEAD #xyz will appear as available based on the number of AN/ASQ-213 Harm Targeting Pods available. In reality there are actually 60 loadouts available based on the number of available AGM-88 - HARM Blk. I, II.

Cheers

Darren
