Thanks for the advice and guidance - I have now recovered my data. Had been trying to do it outside the main HCE folder. The next question is is there a simple way of adding my old/new data (platform by platform) to the latest version of the commondb or do I have to do it by retyping each individual entry? Thanks

Yes - I'm trying that but failing dismally. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. Can you give me step by step instructions - eg files need to be in same folder etc. Thanks

I'm returning to HCE after sometime away - I had created a new database and still have the res and rsr files but lost everything else in a hard drive failure - how do I access the data to start modifying it again.
