Requests/Issues

Request platform additions and changes here

Guidelines for Requests/Issues

Please include the following information with your request:
1. Version of ANW you are using, ex. 3.10.1
2. Version of HUD4 you are currently using, ex. 1.6.5
3. IF you are reporting an issue, provide a saved game and instructions to reproduce the issue if possible.
4. If you are request a new platform, provide information and links you think would be useful. Bonus points for giving a teaser on how you will use the platform.
5. One request or issue per thread. So ask for the DD-963 as of 1982, not the entire French Navy. For the French Navy you would post a number of requests for individual classes.
6. Periodically, finished items (icon12.gif, icon11.gif, and some icon9.gif) will be moved to the archives

When you make a new request, please set the topic icon to icon13.gif
The maintainer will set it to icon9.gif when the request/issue has been fulfilled/addressed
If you see icon8.gif the request is refused
Any player who has tested the change can post to that effect and request that the icon be set to icon11.gif
Ideally the reporter will also test and then set the icon to icon12.gif

Naming conventions:
Civilian ships have the "CIV" tag in front of the name.
Crime/offense-related units have the "CRIM" tag.
Soviet/Russian ships name is preceded by the Project number.
PRC ships have their name preceded by Type number.
NATO units are preceded by the Pennant number.
US units have the US designation number.
Before requesting a platform, players are advised to track it in the list, under the lead unit's name or class' name.

It has the same fuselage cross section and similar capacity as the earlier Falcon 20 twinjet but is a completely new design that is Area ruled and includes a more advanced wing design." --Wikipedia Another jet widely used by various air forces, etc. Perhaps most famous for being the jet used by the Rwandan president when he was assassinated in 1994, which is considered a factor that helped trigger the genocide in that country. Dassault Ouragan http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dassault_Ouragan "The Dassault M.D.450 Ouragan (French: Hurricane) was the first French-designed jet fighter-bomber to enter production, playing a key role in resurgence of the French aviation industry after World War II. The Ouragan was operated by France, Israel, India and El Salvador. While in Israeli service it participated in both the Suez Crisis, Six-Day War and the attack to U.S. ship Liberty." --Wikipedia I could have sworn I posted this one, but I searched and did not find it, so I guess I just forgot. I tried to place the SA 321G Super Frelon (and the variants, the SA 321 Ga and the Chinese Zhi-8) on carriers, but they are not listed as carrier-capable aircraft (i.e., they don't show up in the list of aircraft that can be added to a carrier). I suspect this is a database issue, so I figured I better report it. Thanks! ANW HUD 4 v1.11

The COIL laser weapon only lists missiles as possible targets. I know that it was primarily designed to kill missiles in the boost phase, but should aircraft be added as possible targets, too?

  9. Started by Mgellis,

Not sure if this is a game engine issue or a database issue or something I'm doing wrong, but I am still having trouble with Mavericks. I cannot get the AGM-65Ds or -65Gs to fire from the Block 52 F-16s. As I recall, there was a problem with some weapons that had IR sensors (I think some of the Hellfires had this issue as well) and these are Mavericks that use IR targeting, so it may be a similar problem.

I'm not sure if I reported this or not--I checked but I can't find the posting, although I may have missed it--but there appears to be some errors with the MCM Avenger. Basically, it is a blank listing...the ship has no speed, displacement, sensors, weapons, etc. I imagine this is simply a case where the data was just not entered somehow, or was entered but did not save for some reason, so it should be pretty easy to fix.

The database text for the Type 71 (Chinese amphibious ship) uses the text for the British LPH Ocean. Even if the two classes are very similar, this is a bit disconcerting. Recommended revised database text.... "Chinese amphibious warfare ship; normally carries one marine battalion, four landing craft, and four helicopters."

  12. Started by Mgellis,

A couple of minor corrections are needed for the MCM Avenger. 1. Crew and displacement are listed as 0. This probably does not affect gameplay, as the ship's damage points are listed, but it looks odd. 2. The ship's sensors only include radar; it does seem to have some kind of sonar system (according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avenger_class_mine_countermeasures_ship), although I don't know whether that would be modeled or not in Harpoon. 3. The ship carries mine the AN/SLQ-48 remotely operated mine disposal system. I'm not sure how this should be modeled in Harpoon, or if it should simply be listed in the descriptive text, etc. ANW HUD 4 v1.11

Minor issues...for the P3126 KNS Nyayo class... 1. The text for the Nyayo seems to be incorrect. The wrong weapons are listed. I might just change this to "Missile boats operated by Kenya." 2.A second database listing may be in order. According to Wikipedia, "Built by Vosper Thornycroft, these are similar to the Omani Province class, and were delivered in 1987....From March 2009 to July 2011 these ships underwent an extensive refit at Fincantieri's Muggiano shipyard in northern Italy, during which their surface-to-surface missile (SSM) systems were removed, effectively reducing the vessels to an OPV configuration." In other words, there would be one listing wh…

  15. The text for the INS Shivalik entry appears to be just a copy of the entry for the Talwar, which is a very different ship. Revised database text suggestion: "New class of stealthy, multi-role frigates built for the Indian Navy."
