February 7, 200620 yr I am thinking about a new scenario design, would it be realistic to assume that if the UK would be attacked would Canada, Aussies and New Zealand (being all LOYAL subjects of the Queen) be expected to join in the defense of the UK even if (mainly Austrailia and NZ) may noy not be directly treatened. God save the Queen
February 7, 200620 yr I don't see why not. But to be realistic I would commit only token forces (say in the Atlantic for some sort of exercise prior to hostilities) from Australia and New Zealand. The Canadians could be more present and depending upon the timing could be escorting a relief convoy to Portsmouth or already integrated in with UK naval units. Good luck! DN
February 7, 200620 yr This might also be affected by the time period. If it is set in the current date, I agree that the former colonies would still aid the UK. However, it might be more a case of assisting a fellow western democracy than just protection of the crown. The rationale would probably be different if the scenario was set in an earlier time period.
