I had thought that one of the options with Harpoon 3/ANW was the ability to join a surface ship such as an LSD with land units such as tanks or a batallion of Marines. Is this possile if so how do you set it up in the scenerio editor?

There's no such opportunity so far. The closest to it being in Darren's HUD database the heli-borne assault by troops. I also noticed there were mounts called "LCAC" or "LCVP", but I don't know if they really work like IRL.

I believe this is possible.

 

Just create a base, drag a ship to it, open the base with formation editor and assign the ship to a patrol zone.
