FV-12 Shadow (Hypothetical) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockwell_XFV-12 In 1981, the Rockwell XFV-12 project was canceled. If it had been funded, perhaps along with the Sea Control Ship (perhaps the hypothetical CVL Cabot included in the HUD-4 database?), perhaps it would have emerged around 1985 as the FV-12 Shadow. Ideally, it would have had the range, speed, and performance of a Phantom, but it would have been a V/STOL aircraft able to land anywhere a Harrier could, although it would have been limited to 2,000 lbs. of ordinance, most likely in the form of four air-to-air missiles (Sidewinders or Sparrows) or a mix of two Sidewinders and two 500-lb. bombs (or la…

Gabon might get overlooked by some people, but it could be a good element in a small or medium-sized scenario. Wtih one missile boat, several patrol vessels, and an air force that includes Mirage F-1s and Alpha jets, this is country that could do some serious damage to poorly equipped (or poorly prepared) opponents. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_of_Gabon 1. The country should be added to the country menus in the scenario editor 2. Country-appropriate platforms in the database should be linked to that country, with dates of service, etc. 3. As time allows, country-specific platforms or country-specific variations on existing platforms should be add…

Generic Drone Database text: A generic surveillance drone equipped with a TV camera and IR night vision. Basically, this is a remote control version of the Chotia Weedhopper, equipped with a camera with zoom (marine binoculars), IR night vision (night vision goggles), and MAYBE a laser designator for painting a target for other aircraft, etc. It is meant to simulate the dozens of drone models built by countries around the world. It can also simulate any future or homebrew drone models such as those that might be purchased or built by terrorists, criminal syndicates, spy agencies, countries torn apart by civil wars, etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chotia_Weed…

A generic police boat could be added to the database adding a separate platform POL Generic Police Boat and using the information for the Boston Whaler, but adding a Small Arms mount to represent the armed law enforcement officers aboard. In fact, as I understand it, a number of police agencies around the world use various types of Boston Whaler for this exact purpose. Database text: A small, high-speed boat used by police forces around the world.

A slightly larger generic police/coast guard boat can be added by taking the database entry for the 42-foot motor cruiser and creating a new entry POL Generic Police Cruiser, with the main change being the addition of a Small Arms mount to represent the armed law enforcement officers aboard. The category POL (for "Police") is added to distinguish such boats from purely civilian vessels, even though they are often the same kind of vessel and the only difference is that they are being used for law enforcement. (Well, we hope they are being used for law enforcement...) Database text: A large generic police boat, similar to those employed by coast guards and law enf…

Go Jun Bong class LST http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/g...bong-class-lst/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go_Jun_Bong_class_LST ANW HUD 4 v 1.1 b8 Thanks to Gunny for considering all of these platforms I'm posting...I know they won't be added for a while (heck, if they get added sometime in the next year or so, I'll be happy), but I figured the best way to get the ball rolling on them is to just post them and then, if there is enough information and there is time to add them, they can be added.
