Requests/Issues

Request platform additions and changes here

Guidelines for Requests/Issues

Please include the following information with your request:
1. Version of ANW you are using, ex. 3.10.1
2. Version of HUD4 you are currently using, ex. 1.6.5
3. IF you are reporting an issue, provide a saved game and instructions to reproduce the issue if possible.
4. If you are request a new platform, provide information and links you think would be useful. Bonus points for giving a teaser on how you will use the platform.
5. One request or issue per thread. So ask for the DD-963 as of 1982, not the entire French Navy. For the French Navy you would post a number of requests for individual classes.
6. Periodically, finished items (icon12.gif, icon11.gif, and some icon9.gif) will be moved to the archives

When you make a new request, please set the topic icon to icon13.gif
The maintainer will set it to icon9.gif when the request/issue has been fulfilled/addressed
If you see icon8.gif the request is refused
Any player who has tested the change can post to that effect and request that the icon be set to icon11.gif
Ideally the reporter will also test and then set the icon to icon12.gif

Naming conventions:

Crime/offense-related units have the "CRIM" tag.
Soviet/Russian ships name is preceded by the Project number.

US units have the US designation number.
Before requesting a platform, players are advised to track it in the list, under the lead unit's name or class' name.

A26 submarine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A26_submarine "A26 is the project name of the next generation of submarines developed by Kockums for the Swedish navy. First planned at the beginning of the 1990s, the project was called "U-båt 2000" and was intended to be ready by the late 1990s or early 2000. With the end of the Cold War the naval threat from the Soviet Union disappeared and the new submarine class was deemed unnecessary.[2] The project lay dormant for years until the mid-2000s when the need for a replacement for the Södermanland class submarines became apparent. Originally the Scandinavian countries had intended to collaborate on the Viking class submarin…

Gotland class submarine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gotland_class_submarine "The Gotland class submarines of the Swedish Navy are modern diesel-electric submarines, which were designed and built by the Kockums shipyard in Sweden. They are the first submarines in the world to feature a Stirling engine air-independent propulsion (AIP) system, which extends their underwater endurance from a few days to weeks.[2] This capability had previously only been available with nuclear powered submarines." --Wikipedia ANW HUD-4 v1.11

Södermanland class submarine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C3%B6dermanland_class_submarine "The Swedish Södermanland class of diesel-electric submarines consist of the HMS Södermanland and HMS Östergötland. These two submarines were originally launched as Västergötland class submarines in 1987 and 1990, and have been relaunched as a new class after extensive modernization 2003 and 2004 by Kockums AB. The pressure hull had been cut in two after the sail and a 12 m (39 ft 4 in) long new section with an air-independent propulsion system was inserted. It contains a Stirling engine which is coupled to an electric generator and heated by burning diesel fuel with liquid ox…

Sjöormen class submarine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sj%C3%B6ormen_class_submarine "The Sjöormen class were a group of submarines built for the Swedish Navy in the late 1960s. They had a teardrop shape and were capable of diving to 150m. At the time of their deployment they were regarded as one of the most advanced non-nuclear submarine-classes in the world, incorporating many new features including x-rudder and anechoic tiles. Both speed and underwater endurance was at this time very high for a conventional submarine. The submarines were retired by Sweden in the early 1990s. In the late 1990s, four submarines were acquired by the Republic of Singapore Navy and rela…

Minor issues...for the P3126 KNS Nyayo class... 1. The text for the Nyayo seems to be incorrect. The wrong weapons are listed. I might just change this to "Missile boats operated by Kenya." 2.A second database listing may be in order. According to Wikipedia, "Built by Vosper Thornycroft, these are similar to the Omani Province class, and were delivered in 1987....From March 2009 to July 2011 these ships underwent an extensive refit at Fincantieri's Muggiano shipyard in northern Italy, during which their surface-to-surface missile (SSM) systems were removed, effectively reducing the vessels to an OPV configuration." In other words, there would be one listing wh…

I'm not sure if I reported this or not--I checked but I can't find the posting, although I may have missed it--but there appears to be some errors with the MCM Avenger. Basically, it is a blank listing...the ship has no speed, displacement, sensors, weapons, etc. I imagine this is simply a case where the data was just not entered somehow, or was entered but did not save for some reason, so it should be pretty easy to fix.

Odd error (?) for the text for the LMCS Chickadee...as far as I can tell, it is NOT the Moroccan version of the Sigma-class corvette (which does have its own listing elsewhere in the HUD-4). As near as I can tell, the Chickadee simply a copy of the LCS 2 Independence. (There is also an LCMS 1 Oriole, which appears to be a copy of the LCS 1 Freedom). Was there a reason for adding these quasi-duplicates? Assumed export versions of the LCS? (By the way, the Chickadee is not a bad name for a small warship. These birds are 5" tall and only weigh about as much as a mouse, but put out the birdseed and you will see they are aggressive little guys!) ANW HUD-4 v…
