broncepulido Posted October 20, 2023 Report Posted October 20, 2023 Meddling with my personal modified DB, apparently many ships magazine have been translated from a ship to other, how can I correct it? I don't find in the platform editor any table with ships magazines, to see what is lacking. Thanks. 1 Quote
eeustice Posted October 20, 2023 Report Posted October 20, 2023 I have seen this happen with bases in my personal db too. There is a limit of around 13,000 magazines available in HC. You can find the number of magazines you have looking at tPlatformMagazine. I have attached a screen shot to help you locate the annex where the magazines are located. I use the full version of MS Access and am not sure if it is available to a player that uses the MS Access Runtime the comes with HC. That would be a TonyE question. 1 Quote
donaldseadog Posted October 20, 2023 Report Posted October 20, 2023 If I remember PE is running in a band aid state because of a change a while ago to ms access or some such and TonyE had to write a work around. Maybe there is some connection, but probably no 😳 Quote
eeustice Posted October 21, 2023 Report Posted October 21, 2023 Looking deeper into my personnel db I have found some of my magazines have been scrambled or completely blank. The PE shows that there was something there but everything is totally empty. Using Don Tomas's Tool box I can see that there isn't any problem with magazines in my current game. My next step is to reload my last backup of my db into the PE and see what happens. 2 Quote
eeustice Posted October 21, 2023 Report Posted October 21, 2023 I have imported several of my backup db's into the PE. I am still getting the same results as above. I created a new scenario in the SE and a ship that shows no magazine info in the PE iand have the same results I am guessing that we need TonyE to investigate what has happened. 1 Quote
eeustice Posted October 21, 2023 Report Posted October 21, 2023 Information for TE GE Version: 2023.011 PE Version: 2022.009 db Version: HCEEFDB-230825 Base Magazines are also affected. Test Scenario: Magazine test.scq Quote
donaldseadog Posted October 21, 2023 Report Posted October 21, 2023 (I'd be also wondering about the windows OS version, I have an update ready to install and I'm not having problems so far. I've imported into PE DB, amended them, looked at them and ships have magazines correct, exported and loaded into a game and toolbox is picking up magazines. I think its a toolbox error but I am seeing incorrect magazine info for some platform ? I'll check that out.) ed I've looked again and I think toolbox is good (yeh) but that exports from PE are getting the magazines wrong, tying in with Enrique's comment about some magazines in the wrong platform, I think I'm seeing this too. 1 Quote
broncepulido Posted October 21, 2023 Author Report Posted October 21, 2023 thanks to everyone, at least was not my fault meddling with the DB! (Even reviewing on a very long day every one of the 1730 weapons entries, to find any code number error!). 1 Quote
TonyE Posted October 25, 2023 Report Posted October 25, 2023 Enrique, do you have a before the issue db and one as soon as you noticed that you can zip and send to me tonye@harpgamer.com? Any additional hints are appreciated too (like that you only export and never import if that's how you work). Quote
TonyE Posted October 25, 2023 Report Posted October 25, 2023 To the question of whether the PE running under the Access Runtime can view the # of magazines, the answer is yes. Quote

Regrettably not, apparently is a slow developing failure affecting slowly the magazines without any detecter pattern (thinking on patterns by months, with any result), and I'm not keeping my personal DB records "pure" before the failure, it probably happened some six months ago (also, aperceiving it and fighting against it my scenario develpment has slowed too). Thank you for the additional information, one more question so far, do you only export from the PE or do you do both export and import actions/buttons? Quote

I think basically export, very few times import to recover some few changes losed. Quote
