TonyE Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 View File ExportDLL - GoogleEarth Viewer GoogleEarth.dll interface version 5, for GE 2009.042+ Runs a tiny webserver that serves a kml file to GoogleEarth on port 8183 to the local machine (and elsewhere if you do port forwarding). Installation: Extract ZIP with directories intact to your HC directory, the HCGoogleEarth.dll will end up in an ExportDLLs directory and a GoogleEarth directory will be created with each unit icon separated into its own file. See the Word document in the ZIP file for further instructions. History: 01: 2007/09/28 Initial release that is HCE compatible. 02: 2009/02/10 Updated to be compatible with Google Earth 5.0. Also put subs underwater since Google Earth 5 supports that. 03: 2009/09/21 Allow connections other than LocalHost and changed from port 8180 to 8183. 04: 2009/09/22 Host unit icons at HarpGamer, further enabling connections from machines other than LocalHost 05: 2009/09/27 Implement zipping of the KML file to KMZ, results in much less network traffic. TonyE Posted February 11, 2009 Author Report Posted February 11, 2009 Updated to give Google Earth 5.0 compatibility. Thanks to Buddha for the hint that it wasn't working right. Also placed subs below the surface (when they aren't surfaced) since Google Earth 5 supports things being underwater. Quote
TonyE Posted September 27, 2009 Author Report Posted September 27, 2009 Updated a few times lately, now on version 5. The unit icons are hosted at HarpGamer, so if you forward port 8183 on your router to your HC machines, you can let other watch your game. Version 5 also looks better with transparent unit icons and better information formatting! Also it will serve kmz files which have been running 8 to 64 times smaller (less network traffic) than the uncompressed kml. You can still of course use it locally without any port forwarding. Quote

TonyE Posted October 8, 2009 Author Report Posted October 8, 2009 You'll have to update your game to version 2009.042 or newer (at the moment you can get 2009.042 at http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?showtopic=2049) from 2008.044. I apparently made a change in those recent versions of the DLL that requires the newer GEs. Quote

I apparently made a change in those recent versions of the DLL that requires the newer GEs. Ok upgrade HCE to HC2009.042inc.exe and the game not crash with GoogleEarth.dll interface version 5 (my fault about compatipile version ) but the visualization problem in Googleearth persist Position and display the wrong icons, deep/altitude is ever 000 positioned over the ground in wrong area, and finally the number of unit is not that real in the scenario like old version of GoogleEarth.dll ver.2. Can serve a screenshot for best perceive the problem ? Is another my fault in set GoogleEarth net link ? (I followed the doc in the archive for correct use.... ) If the problem is setting GoogleEarth what is the solution ? Only mod in the HCE is the Stalinc mod icons and sounds, but the wrong visualization same with the original icon set in HCE. Thanks and excuse my bad English Quote
Warhawk Posted November 8, 2023 Report Posted November 8, 2023 Hello...VERY long time Harpoon player since the first edition came out. I have Harpoon Ultimate CE version 2022.027 and Google Earth Pro. Installed the mod like the instructions said. At first, it added the units on google earth but then crashed the game. Now, I start the scenario, open up google earth and it immediately crashes. Quote

Harpoon is a hobby for me and I unfortunately won't be able to take a look for at least a week. In the interim, you can disable the ExportDLL by renaming it with a different file extension (my favorite is .dll.bak) or delete it outright. Quote
Warhawk Posted November 9, 2023 Report Posted November 9, 2023 No worries sir. Just wanted to report the issue and I just noticed that its been a while since anyone has reported any issues so I can understand if it'll take a while to look into. Quote
