TonyE Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 HCE - 2007.029 ============== - Chg:0000 SE When lots of ship/sub/aircraft classes are in the DB, it could overflow the maximum contents of a 16-bit listbox. Fix is to dynamically narrow the width of the shown fields so that all entries are shown. This will mean some country names, class names, and side names may be cut short to make each entry small enough for them all to show. (thanks Rene) - Chg:0000 GE An attempt was made to have the GE not crash if a scenario has groups with no units. What to test: Try opening some scenarios in the GE that have empty groups. Not only add a last empty group and save in the SE, but also try adding a couple of proper groups after the empty group. http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?showtopic=2365 is one to test.
TEPonta Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Tony, I don't know about anyone else, but the latest GE release (HC2007.029GE.ZIP) will not run under Vista on my system. The new GE gets as far as the scenario selection screen, and then Windows informs me that it has stopped working. The SE (HC2007.029SE.ZIP) appears to work fine. Going back to HC2007.028GE still works OK also. Buddha

TonyE Posted December 3, 2007 Author Report Posted December 3, 2007 Okay, I've uploading a re-compiled copy of the same code, how does it work now?
TEPonta Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 Okay, I've uploading a re-compiled copy of the same code, how does it work now? Tony, Vista user here. It seems OK now. I'd be lying if I claimed to understand why, but as long as you do, I guess that's what counts. Thanx, Buddha

wombat1417 Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 (edited) The .029 GE I downloaded at 5PM New York City time work properly on both my XP SP2 and Vista machines. However, the .029 SE has that empty group problem you mentioned. The attached save has an empty group followed by 2 normal groups and crashes both the Vista and XP machines. TonyE Posted December 4, 2007 Author Report Posted December 4, 2007 Thanks guys, I'll take out my fix for empty groups since it only applies to my machine.
