  1. A very good source for guns is www.navweapons.com, recopilatory of other sources.

I use it in my own WWII, WWI and pre-WWI DB (with all the mencionated realism limitations).

I increase the hit points of the ships in relation with her armour (vg.: BB South Dakota 1458 hit points, BB Kongo 1082 hp, AC Gromoboi 371 hp, CA Hipper 445 hp, BB Bismarck 1611 hp, BC Seydlitz 997 hp, CL Wiesbaden 204 hp, and so on. Also, I divide by 15 or 18 the weight (in Kg.) of the projectile (AP), halfing the h.p of HE projectiles, and X 0,66 the no hard caped projetiles (based on hits for ship sunk in historic engagements). Also, I've a table with considerations about the quality of the armour (vg. Compound Steel-Iron armour x 0,52, light steel armour/STS/mild steel x 0,50, Krupp NC x 0,77, aluminium x 0,25, Harveyzed x 0,66, iron x 0,4 .... )

  2. A big ship, the new spanish LHD, L-61 Juan Carlos I (No data on electronics or weapons, but I suposse very basic systems), providing too an alternative aerial platform to the carrier Principe de Asturias, launched the past 10/03/08:

And replace the Hobart (Gibbs & Cox) by the Hobart (Navantia), F-100 Alvaro de Bazan-like:

And Navantia is the selected contender for the future australian LHD, Juan Carlos I is very similar:
